Look for a job, not just a line
Triple-A production gets attention because it feels close to the majors. That does not automatically make it actionable. A fantasy add needs a realistic job waiting, not only a hot stretch.
Start by checking whether the player has a clear defensive fit, a roster need above him, or a role that can open quickly.
Match the player to your standings
A prospect who can move one category is more useful than a popular name who does not solve a roster problem. Speed, power, ratios, and strikeouts should be judged against your league context.
That is why the same player can be a priority in one league and a pass in another.
Treat the sample like a signal
Small samples are useful when they point you toward what to check next. They are dangerous when they become the whole argument.
Use them to build a watchlist, then keep tracking playing time, role, and category fit.
